About Pomegranate PressPomegranate Press was founded by David Arscott in 1992 to publish books with a Sussex theme. He later extended its range to include the Pomegranate Practicals nutshell guides, fiction and a range of non-fiction titles. Several of his Sussex audio programmes are also available on this site. For some years David specialised in taking other authors through the self-publishing process, bringing out their books under the Pomegranate Press imprint. This service has now ended, save for special projects, but all the books on this website are still available. A former newspaper journalist and BBC producer/presenter, David has for many years worked as a freelance author, broadcaster, publisher and editor. He has written more than 30 books on Sussex, for various publishers apart from his own Pomegranate Press. His published fiction includes Cultic Cyphers from Celtic Cyprus (7,5), a literary novel with a crossword puzzle theme, and the short story collection Maracas in Caracas. With David Marl (under the pseudonym David Johns) he has written Boyhunt and the Eye & Blade Trilogy – The Frozen City, A Flight of Bright Birds and Shadows in Crimson Colours. Currently honorary secretary of the Society of Sussex Authors, David is also involved in media training, working with colleagues in the UK and abroad to coach groups and individuals in improving their skills in front of the microphone and the camera.
